Bad band names

January 29, 2024 by Andrew Culture

Last Updated on January 30, 2024

S01 E59

All the best band names are taken, but dear, oh dear. Why on earth would they stick with that? This is the topic of this week’s show, and that’s about it. The concern isn’t so much about the music but more just badly chosen band names.

Most seem like a bad pub idea moment. Others go way beyond that. Of course, there are the wilfully (and, to an extent, lazily) offensive: An_l C_nt, An_l Beard. But, then there’s also the bizarre, the stupid and the in-joke that’s gone on too long and taken too far. And then there’s all three.

So, once again, join Andrew and Sam as they explore some different nuances of the culture around music. This is what this podcast is really about: culture around music and the loving relationship between two cis-straight white middle-class men from the UK. Big love.
